
Further Education champion joins University leadership team
The University of Wales Trinity Saint David (UWTSD) has announced the appointment of Sharron Lusher MBE DL as Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Further Education.
Sharron brings a wealth of experience from her distinguished career in the tertiary education sector, having served in several senior leadership roles that have shaped the Further and Higher Education landscape in Wales.
A former Principal of Pembrokeshire College and Chair of the ColegauCymru Board, Sharron has extensive experience of working with government, employers, and education providers to champion learner progression, vocational reform, bilingual skills development, and widening participation across Wales. She is Chair of the Independent Welsh Pay Review Body and a board member of Qualifications Wales.
In her new role, Sharron will lead UWTSD’s contribution to the Welsh Government’s vision for a joined-up tertiary education system. She will help to strengthen collaboration between the University and the Further Education sector, supporting the development of seamless progression routes from Further Education into Higher Education and creating more opportunities for learners and their communities.
